I love lables - these are botanical images done for a project last year - would like to take them a stage further into textiles and made in jute since it's a Dundee thing.
dyed vilene gold fabric paint added - this sample was  for millinery to cover buckram
My work is varied since I like to try bits of everything

Sari silks  for fine art project wallhanging - must try making a scarf - if I get any free time - my head is bursting with ideas

Some inspiration for my art  - I love grafitti and consider it an artform - here is dudhope skatepark Dundee

REVISITING DUNDEE - THE CITY WAS FAMOUS FOR THE 3 J'S - JUTE, JAM, JOURNALISM
The jute barons in the early to mid 19th century had a great influence on the arts and architecture - which brings me to the McManus Art Galleries and Museum which now houses artwork by scottish colourist Francis Cadell. The gallery is named after the lord provost who lived acress the road from me lovely man

MAUREEN MCCAFFERTY  -
Hello world -I am a student studying Textiles and Fine Art and I have been asked to visit my old home town of Dundee in order to rediscover the city's 'style and creativity'.
The beginning of my quest led me to designated hotspots. so here we go!

HOTSPOTS VISITED IN DUNDEE

Vintage bags, Scarves, Bespoke jewellery

This lady  has a website to sell her bags
http://www.agenuinerattbag.co.uk/index.php
"Beautiful, functional bags - all fabrics, leather and buttons are reclaimed, recycled or vintage

HOTSPOT 2

Spex Pistols - lens maker  and purveyor of Prada sun glasses

Whats next in the city of discovery - my fave place -  vintage specs by Spex pistols and  the quirkyest shop with a gem of an owner who is passionate about his Dundee and the likes of  the Law hill, Baxter park, The Ferry etc.

maureens first dilema- where do I start - with my favourite things
